Welcome to The Youth Crisis Intensive Outpatient Center, a dedicated facility offering prompt assessment and brief-term treatment for individuals aged 18 and under facing mental or emotional health crises, including suicidal risks. Our center serves as a secure haven for young individuals navigating emotional turmoil, providing specialized care during times of urgent need.
Our primary objective is to offer intervention and stabilization services aimed at de-escalating mental health crises and ensuring the safety of the child. Our secondary goal is to provide a more comfortable and inviting alternative to hospitalization for our youth, while also alleviating the burden on local law enforcement and working towards decriminalizing mental health issues. The Center does not operate as a residential facility; instead, it serves as a short-term, secure space for young individuals to undergo assessment and receive immediate support during their time of need.
Our Crisis Triage Intensive Outpatient Center embraces the 'Recliner Model,' often referred to as the 'Living Room' program. We are the first in Washington State to adopt this type of setting and program. Central to this approach are recliner chairs, which also double as massage chairs, creating a unique and comforting atmosphere distinct from the conventional hospital bed setup.
This warm and inviting environment is meticulously crafted to instill a sense of calm and alleviate stress and anxiety for youth facing emotional distress. Numerous studies consistently highlight that nurturing surroundings contribute to expedited recovery times for individuals in crisis. By offering a space where youth can recuperate more swiftly, our goal is to minimize disruptions to their home lives, education, and overall confidence, fostering a path toward healing and resilience.
When a youth arrives at our center, they undergo a comprehensive assessment to discern the nature and severity of their crisis, allowing us to chart the most appropriate course of action. Throughout their stay, our devoted staff begins crafting a personalized program and care plan for the youth. It's crucial to be aware that our facility is designed for brief interventions, with a maximum stay of 23 hours and 59 minutes. Our goal is that the individual will leave with a meticulously devised plan in place, ensuring a smooth transition, and a qualified care professional accompanies them to their next destination.
At The Youth Crisis Intensive Outpatient Center, we want you to know that seeking support is entirely voluntary. Our doors are open for you to walk in whenever you feel the need, and you have the freedom to leave at any time.
